The days of competing with other businesses are OVER!
You may think I’m crazy?
Well, you heard me right.
Companies and businesses are no longer competing with each other…
We’re all competing for the ATTENTION of your visitors and prospective customers.
Hundreds of millions of people are spending thousands of hours chatting and sharing stuff on Facebook, watching videos on YouTube, listening to the Top Hit songs, reading emails, checking news sites, etc.
These people of course include your prospective customers.
And whether they are your prospective customer or not, these are real people and they all have one thing common…
All people get “DISTRACTED”
(Including ourselves!)
We’re all distracted all the time with beep sounds, pop ups, Skype messages, notifications, emails… and these are the things we are all competing with.
Before anything else, your goal should be driving these people away from all these virtual distractions and get their attention on your message!
So how do you do it?
By communicating your message in different and more engaging ways.
I don’t want to bore you with the details, but to make a long story short… one of the most powerful ways to hold your viewers attention is by doing 2 things at once….
- Create pattern interrupt, and
- Build anticipation
Here are 5 interesting tricks you can implement (right now!) into your video marketing strategy and get some crazy results…
Trick #5: Find The Mistake & Win
Example: As soon as your video starts, you can build anticipation with something like…
“Oh and by the way, in this video, there’s a mistake so make sure you watch the video until the end. The first person who points it out wins XYZ”
This is not only a great way to hold your viewers until the end, but it’s also fun! And trust me, by being fun you’re automatically different inside their head. And different is a good thing!
Here’s a few ideas for mistakes you can purposely make…
- You can make a spelling mistake
- You can have a clock behind you that shows a different time on the next scene
- Wear your watch on your other wrist in some scenes
You get the idea
Trick #4: Watch & Receive
I recently saw an advertisement online about joining a webinar. In their video they said the following…
Just for showing up live and staying until the end, we’re going to GIVE you a fully functioning sales funnel AND membership site ($5,000 Value) for FREE!
The difference between this trick with the one I previously explained is that with this trick everyone wins! It is more of a free giveaway than a contest, and that’s why it’s very powerful.
Trick #3: Watch & WIN

PayPal recently launched a video contest applying this ‘Watch & Win’ technique.
The idea behind this campaign from Paypal is to get people to watch the video until the end to get a chance to win $50,000. As soon as you watch that video, you’re asked to Login or Signup to PayPal and instantly see whether you won or lost.
No waiting for a draw or whatsoever. It was instant.
A simple way of implementing this is to mention in the beginning of the video that a code word will be revealed at the end, and that they will need this code word to enter the contest. You could reveal that code word with an email address, and they have to send an email with the code word to enter.
Now they absorbed the content of the entire video and also had some fun by entering to win a prize.
You can of course do something like Paypal did, and have them click through to a page to reveal if they won or not or have them register for your product or service to reveal if they won.
The point is that you are making it even more fun to watch the video and absorb the content, so be as creative with it as you like!
Trick #2: Tease & Reveal (One At A Time)
When we were kids we loved to see a box wrapped up as a gift. Even if it was empty we’d be staring at it all day until we figured out what’s in there.
Well, you can apply the same principle with your video by revealing one secret at a time…while all the rest are hidden.
Brendon Burchard is a great example of this “viewer engagement” trick.
Watch the video above to see this trick in action as Brendon reveals the first secret at 4:05.
Trick #1: Get A Scientifically-Designed Video
If you’re a busy professional or too shy to get on video..or you just want everything to look and flow perfect without doing any of the work… then do yourself (and your business) a favor and invest in explainer videos. (Click here to see few samples of explainer videos)
So whether you want to convince MORE people to buy from you, make your phone ring like crazy or explain a complicated procedure or a big idea quick and easy… you’re in the right place.
This is what we do for a living. This is our job.
We create explainer videos based on proven neuroscience principles.
And I don’t think I need to convince you as to how powerful these videos are. The proof is in the stats of every business using them.
But to give you a hit: it’s simply because the human brain digests the information 5 or 10 times easier with these types of videos.
Here’s why a human’s brain digests this information up to 10X (ten times) easier with explainer videos than any other type of video:
The purpose of a video is to explain a message to the viewer so they can take action, right?
Now imagine this…
Let’s say you’re lost and asking for directions and you have 2 options…
1. You found a piece of paper with a map
OR
2. You have blank paper and you give a pencil to someone to draw for you the specific directions.
Which would be easier for you to know where to go?
This is exactly how our whiteboard animation explainer videos work.
The video shows a hand drawing right on the screen, explaining exactly what you need to explain. And that’s the purpose of whiteboard videos… to drive human minds and viewer’s attention as the hand moves.
We’re all running the same race…
- “Explain my awesome product or process to my clients in an easier to understand way”
- “Get my product into the hands of my customers”
- “Help me stand out from the crowd”
In fact, over the last few years we’ve created 1000+ explainer videos based on proven neuroscience principles for start-ups, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies including McDonald’s, Ericsson, Honda, MTV, eBay, CBS and Sberbank.
But why did they invest their money with us?
To communicate their ideas through video in a way that’s easy to understand and remember and to produce amazing results and conversions.
An explainer video is an investment into your business, and our customers see a return on that investment over and over again.
