Project Manager

Job Overview: We’re looking for a highly-motivated, skilled, and independent project manager to fill a full-time position to manage video projects that are in queue and being worked on by the entire wizMotions staff.

Please note that if you are not a native English speaker then please do not respond to this position as you will not be considered.

The right individual will be responsible for overseeing a (growing) team of 6 artists, 2 video editors, 2 writers, and one assistant project manager to ensure every project is running smoothly, making progress, and hitting deadlines. All employees and contract workers work from home from various locations around the world. We use Basecamp online project management system to manage all projects and tasks.

This is a high-energy, fast moving position. At any given time you will be monitoring and managing around 30 – 50 projects at the same time. The skills necessary for the job include the ability to manage many things at once, high-level organizational skills, team management, client relationship management, knowledge of video and video marketing, internet marketing, copywriting, and project management. Knowledge of Basecamp is a plus.

Requirements: There are 3 main components to the position: Manage the projects in the queue, manage the wizMotions team, and manage the clients and their expectations. 

1. Manage all projects in queue, you must ensure:

  • Clients are being kept updated on progress of their project
  • Tasks are assigned to the proper team member
  • Deadlines are met for all assigned tasks

2. Client relationship management, you must ensure:

  • Client requests during the project are being handled properly
  • Client requests for changes and/or additional work are addressed properly
  • Clients are being kept updated on their project
  • 100% customer satisfaction is our #1 priority
  • You MUST be comfortable talking to clients on the phone about their projects as well during the process. We try to keep the phone conferences to a minimum as we use a project management system to keep track of everything, but sometimes clients want to get on the phone to discuss something.

3. Team management

  • Assist any of the artists with any questions they have regarding a project. This includes and is not limited to ideas about how scenes should look and be illustrated, help understanding a client request, etc.
  • Assist video editor with questions regarding client animation requests, process and procedures, and details about the video

4. Work closely with owners

  • Owners of the company will be responsible for initial client contacts and orders. The owners will receive the orders from the client and then pass all necessary information to you to start the project
  • Any questions or client issues that you are not sure of and/or cannot handle should be escalated to one of the owners.

Training:

  • You will be fully trained one-on-one for 2 weeks by “shadowing” the owners and working closely with them to understand daily activities and processes.
  • After an initial 2 weeks training period you will begin managing projects one-by-one. As time goes on and you are more comfortable, more and more projects will be under your supervision.

Extra Credit:

  • Extensive experience in managing multimedia development/productions.
  • An attitude that says, “Let me at it! No matter what the hurdle, I will figure out a way to get over it, around it, or through it.”
  • Experience on using project management systems, preferably Basecamp.

This is a salary position and the payment is negotiable. I am leaving that part of this job open, and can be discussed during the interview. You will be paid every 2 weeks and also we will be offering bonuses based on performance.

Your hours will be 40+ hours. Some overtime hours will be required as well as some hours on weekends depending on client demand.

Creative coypwriter (with strong marketing skills)

Job Overview: We are looking for a writer to join our team of 20 people to write scripts and illustration and animation guidelines for videos that we will produce. Please note, if you are NOT a native English speaker please don’t apply for the job. We are considering native speakers only.

We have 2 dedicated writers that works for us and they cannot handle the work-load. We continue to grow and expand and need another writer to join our team. We are looking for someone who has some experience writing scripts for videos already and who can work as part of the team and receive assignments from us to write scripts and illustration guidelines for video projects.

Please take a look at the whiteboard animation videos and animation video on our portfolio page, these are the types of videos in which we need scripts for.

Requirements:

  • You must have experience writing scripts for animation videos to be considered for this job.
  • You must have a strong experience in marketing for writing copy that converts viewers into buyers.
  • English must be your native language.

Here is how it works:

  • We receive order from client for a whiteboard animation and part of their order includes needing a script from us
  • We send them a questionnaire to fill out and then ask them for any other supporting documentation as well.
  • We send that to the writer. The writer then reviews the information and gets an understanding of the project. If necessary, you can schedule a call with the client and you will be paid for that as well. Then the writer will write a script as well as illustration guidelines to match the script. I have attached a sample to this job posting of one we did for a client so you can see what I mean.
  •  We send to client to review. Client may ask for unlimited revisions. Normally, revisions last no more than 1 – 2 rounds.
  • Once the script and illustration guidelines are done, we send them to the animation team to work with and the writers job is done. Obviously this will take not only some copywriting skills but also some imagination and creativity to create the illustration guidelines.

Sales Executive

Job Overview:  We are looking for someone who REALLY knows how to communicate with prospects and turn them into buyers by selling our services.

If you think you meet the following requirments then this position is for you:

  • You speak fluent English (even more than 100%)
  • You have experience in sales for closing deals and following up with prospects
  • You have experience in marketing and you know how to use the power of persuasion.
  • You’re friendly and providing a personalized touch as well as showing CARE when communicating with customers.
  • You must be super responsive and helpful when a prospective customer has questions.
  • You should be providing a quick update via Email on a daily basis on what has been done and what’s next.

If you’re any of the following, then this position is NOT for you:

  • Too pushy and selly
  • Using copy/paste responses just to get the job done.

We’ll start eventually with 7-10 hours a week and eventually (if you’re good) we’ll scale.
